Book Launch Money

We’ve just transferred £1,620 to HIWWT for the Solent Seagrass Restoration Project – the amount we raised at our launch from sales of tickets, books and litter art. Give yourselves all a pat on the back!

But we’re not done yet: the book has only just found its way into the world and needs your help to branch out. Christmas is on its way (I know, I know) so why not get a copy for a friend or family member?

Book Launch Report

Thanks to everyone who came to our book launch. If you weren’t able to make it (or just fancy reliving some of the highlights) Jackie Green has written up a report of the evening  here.

Missing Sponsors

This is to regretfully announce that nine sponsors who helped fund the publication of Wild Seas, Wilder Cities via our Crowdfunder were not acknowledged in the book due to an administrative error. This will be rectified in our forthcoming ebook and any future editions of the paperback.

In the meantime we’d like to express our deep gratitude to the following sponsors:

  • Jackie Arnold
  • Janet Brown
  • Carol Dowie
  • Martine Egan
  • Sue Harper
  • Gail and Jon Loose
  • Loree Westron
  • Ruth Wilkinson
  • Sandra Wilkinson & Jeremy Pack
  • And also those sponsors who chose to remain anonymous.

Commended Poems

We’ve published four poems that were commended in our ‘Community’ competition. You can read them here.

Instagram Returns!

Our Instagram page has been rejuvenated, under the discerning eye of Peter Brown, one of the artists contributing to our book. You can check it out here.

Competition Results

Thanks to everyone who entered our ‘community’ competition. The judges have made their verdicts, and the results are now available here!

Fundraising

With £100 recently raised by the Pens friends litter pick, we’ve hit our target of £2,000 to publish our book. That means we’re now directly raising money for the Solent Seagrass Restoration Project!

The litter pick is ongoing, having recently reached over 3,000 pieces of litter (new target: 4,000). It will continue until our launch on October 21st.

It’s a fabulous feeling to announce that all proceeds from our book launch – including ticket sales, book sales, litter picking and litter art sales – will go to supporting the wonderful and essential work of restoring seagrasses.

Our book will become available to pre-order from Pigeon Books from early summer onwards (for collection or delivery).

Book Launch Tickets

Tickets for our book launch event at Portsmouth Guildhall are now available at the bargain price of £6 each. It’s going to be great and we’d love to see you there! Order your tickets from the Guildhall here.
