Pens of the Earth are fundraising in aid of Wilder Portsmouth (yes, we really are now!).
Wilder Portsmouth is part of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust (HIWWT) dedicated to helping nature’s recovery in Portsmouth.
They are developing wilder streets, adopting bits of scrub land, planting trees and clearing litter. They work in conjunction with schools, community groups, churches, the University and the local council.
By making small changes for nature we can make a big impact locally, by putting up bird boxes, creating bug hotels, planting trees, putting up bat boxes, planting more insect-friendly plants, creating highways for hedgehogs and connecting our open spaces.
