We are recording an audiobook version of our book Wild Seas, Wilder Cities in Portsmouth (thanks to funding from Portsmouth Creates), and you can be part of it!
We’re looking for a range of “Wilder Voices” to perform and record pieces from the book. No experience is necessary, so why not give it a go?
The day is led by Christine Lawrence, an experienced spoken-word performer, actor and workshop tutor.
How it Works
Pieces will be allocated in advance, via Christine, who will contact you to discuss this. You are encouraged to familiarise yourself with the piece you are reading prior to the day. To enable this, ticket registration will close one week before the workshop.
On the day:
- 9:30 Arrival at Casemates Studios (the cafe is open from 9:30)
- 10:00 Workshop (Christine will help you get the best performance for recording)
- 12:00 Lunch break (bring your own or buy food from the Casemates cafe)
- 13:00 Recording sessions
- 17:00 Finish
After editing is complete, all readers will receive a copy of their own recording.
Important
- As spaces and recording slots are limited, please only book a ticket if you can definitely make this event. Let Christine know immediately if you can no longer make it.
- You will be asked to sign a permission slip so we can use your recording in the audiobook.
- To help with sustainability, please bring your own mug and/or water bottle.
