26th March 2025:
We’ve recently transferred another £1,500 to HIWWT for the Solent Seagrass Restoration Project, bringing our grand total to:
This latest round of fundraising includes money from book sales and our writing workshops (with thanks to workshop leader Tamsin Hopkins).
You can still help contribute to our total by buying a copy of the book here.
As part of our Book Project we are raising money for the Solent Seagrass Restoration Project.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust has joined forces with Boskalis Westminister and The University of Portsmouth to undertake a seagrass restoration project within the Solent. We want to see seagrass habitats in the Solent restored towards their historical levels and for seagrass to be present in all locations that could support it. By restoring seagrass habitats, we will create a wilder Solent, supporting increased biodiversity and sustainable fisheries, promoting greater ecosystem services, cleaner water and creating a natural carbon solution to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The publication costs for Wild Seas, Wilder Cities were raised via our Crowdfunder and other fundraising activities in 2023. This means that the proceeds from sales all add to the total raised for Seagrass Restoration.
(We previously raised money for the Solent Seagrass Restoration Project at the Bob and Doris performances.)
