Pens of the Earth Inaugural Committee Meeting

Discussion:
Anthology poll: we asked all of our 40 contributors whether they would be in favour of fundraising to create an anthology of existing work. We have had 24 replies (so far):
- 24 agreed to have their work published in an anthology, with all profits going to an environmental charity.
- 22 agreed to support/share fundraising efforts.
- 3 pledged money.
- 12 offered to assist in some way (including offering rewards, writing articles, promoting the book, suggesting a sponsored litter pick).
This seems like a significant amount of support, therefore we are going ahead with the anthology.
We will create a fundraising team to raise money for the anthology.
We will investigate the possibility of starting activities with a sponsored litter pick as suggested by Christina Moran.
Helen presented a draft Constitution, which was discussed and edited. Helen will send out a revised copy to the committee members for approval.
The committee roles were decided as follows:
- Vin: chairperson.
- Helen: treasurer.
- Richard: secretary.
Vin and Helen will be signatories for the Pens of the Earth bank account.
Richard will update the website’s Who’s Involved and About pages to reflect our formal structure and partnerships.
The online AGM will be held on Tues 11th July, at 7pm. Helen will write an agenda for it.
